    Will Israel Invade Iran?
Now that the US and Israel have primed the media to start covering evil Iran's nuclear threat, some pundits predict an invasion after the Jewish state takes delivery of their latest shipment of 5000 bombs, including 50 "bunker busters" from the US (Source: Christian Science Monitor).

Israel just may get a chance to flex their considerable strength against Iraq and Syria, another nemisis that has cast its shadow on Israel's sovereignty. As US Secretary of State Colin Powell said in late September 200,there are no immediate plans to strike Iran and the emphasis is on diplomacy and politics, but nothing has been ruled out (Source: Australian News). Noticeably absent is discussions regarding santions or action against Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel, whose Pentagon spy was caught recently and has ties to two senior Pentagon officials: Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith (Source: CNN). Curiously, that affair has disappeared off the radar. As usual, Israel, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are allowed to pursue their own agendas: Israel with its own nuclear weapons program, espionage and murder against its prinary benefactor, the US; Pakistan with ties to Al Queda and its very own Dr. A.Q. Khan, who has sold atomic secrets to Iran, Libya and North Korea; and, the wealthy and influential Saudi Arabians who funds terrorist groups and Allah knows what else.

As the New York Times reported on 26 September, "the United States has stepped up pressure on Syria, long accusing it of supporting terrorism. Since the American-led invasion of Iraq last year the United States has repeatedly demanded that Syria seal its border to extremist infiltrators. But over the weekend, Secretary of State Colin L. Powell suggested that Damascus had adopted a more "helpful" attitude on the issue in recent talks at the United Nations." (Source: New York Times.)

The bigger question is why the US media continue to ignore the state spawned terrorism of Israel. There are numerous instances over the last three decades where the US government has chosen to ignore Israel's transgressions against the US and its citizens. The State of Israel is not shy about killing unarmed civilians but has never suffered repercussions for their acts, but, in fact, benefits financially: The U.S. gives $15,139,178 per day to the Israeli government and military and $568,744 per day to Palestinian NGO’s.

In late September and the first few days of October, a Palestinian launched rocket killed two Israeli kids. In retaliation, Israel has killed dozens of children and youths, and is preparing to overrun Gaza with 200 tanks, armored vehicles and bulldozers. How do you say blitzkreig in Hebrew? According to the Israel Defense Ministry, 3,246 Palestinians (Source: Palestine Red Crescent Society) and 989 Israelis (Source: Israel Defense Forces) have been killed since September 29, 2000.

Given their history of making bombing runs into Lebanon and other neighbors, the new revelation of Iran's nuclear pursuits puts mighty Israel in a perfect position to strike at one of the evil empires, under the guise of protecting their state using the pre-emptive strike method they perfected and later adopted by the US.

Now, with an opportunity to claim even more of the Mideast under the banner of preserving peace, what they are really will be doing is making Iran a little safer for the likes of Halliburton, which did big business there (and in Iraq) under Dick Cheney's leadership in the late 90s. Source: The Guardian and numerous other citations.

Even while the US and Israel condemn Iran for its nuclear program, US Vice President Dick Cheney's old company Halliburton is under investigation for its dealing with Iran. Source: BBC News and others.

Cheney was CEO of the company "during which time Halliburton Products and Services set up shop in Iran." (Source: CBS news. In fact, Cheney was so adamant about doing business with terrorist nations like Iran, he even went abroad to publicly attack American foreign policy after meeting with top officials from a foreign government. Source: American Prospect.

As the Bush administration has said, if you do business with a terrorist state, then you are with the terrorists. Does this mean that Bush, Cheney and their co-horts, who have done business with terrorists, are, in fact, subject to charges of treason, as commander in chief and top sidekick to the US armed forces? Aren't states that kill innocent Americans - as Israel has done - terrorist states?

Having Israel attack Iran is the perfect solution to take the attention off the real problem. Both Israel and America abuse their power in the same manner attacking weaker "enemies" to protect the world from what they deem as 'evil."

    Israel's Legacy of Killing Americans
When armed Israelis attacking unarmed Palestinians, the US ignores it. And, when they kill unarmed Americans, the US still ignores it. Why? Because Israel is America's Middle East cop, America's tough guy with a quick trigger finger, US funding, and a military that has become one of the most lethal killing machines on the planet. They are so tough they even train American troops in their special forces camps. Israel: rough, tough and hard to bluff.

The Israeli military not only kills Palestinians but Americans: On 16 March 2003, a videotape shows American Rachel Corrie getting crushed by an armored Israeli army bulldozer. (Source: CNN). Rachel's grieving mother, Cindi, suggests that American citizens "should ask themselves how it is that an unarmed US citizen can be killed with impunity by a soldier from an allied nation receiving massive US aid." She points out some killings of Americans are taken very seriously: "When three Americans were killed, presumably by Palestinians, in an explosion on October 15th, 2003 ... the FBI came within 24 hours to investigate the deaths. After one year, neither the FBI nor any other US-led team has done anything to investigate the death of an American killed by an Israeli."

An an Israeli army spokesman said the activists put themselves in harm's way by entering a combat zone. Further, the Israeli line is that the driver did not see Corrie through the bulldozer's thick bulletproof glass but agreed that the armoured personnel carriers (APCs) that accompany bulldozers are responsible for directing the drivers towards their targets. The military declined to comment as to why didn't the APC drivers get the bulldozer to stop. It only took the US a mere 37 years to come out with a light hand slap on the hand for Israel's attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 in which 34 Americans died and over 170 were wounded (Source: NewsMax). In January 2004, a member of the US State Depatment, said that appears that the Jewish state is guilty of "gross negligence" of the incident. Contrast the lack of reaction and outrage of that attack and recent murders of US citizens in the Middle East to American outrage over North Korea's assault on the intelligence ship 'Pueblo,' Iraq's mistaken missile strike on the USS 'Stark,' the bombing of the USS 'Cole' in Aden, and the US-China air incident.

There are other incidents in which Americans have been murdered by Israeli forces. In early 2003 former Israeli intelligence officials told the United Press International (UPI) that Israel is embarking upon a more aggressive approach to the 'war on terror' that will include staging targeted killings [murders] in the United States and other friendly countries. What other countries had this latitude, telling the US that, 'by the way, we will be using illegal weapons and murdering people on your soil. Sources: Infoimagination and United Press International (UPI)

Clearly, Israel is given wide berth and rules with an iron fist, not only attacking Palestinians (and anyone else who happens to be visiting), but they are also systematically trying to erase the history of Christianity in Jerusalem. Christian monasteries and churches suffer the same fate as Palestinian dwellings and their ancient olive groves: They get bulldozed and destroyed in a concerted effort to erase any non-sanctioned artifacts.

Criticism of any sort towards Israel - no matter how factual - often prompts attacks from Israel and their supporters in which they are quick to label the source as anit-Semetic, disregarding accuracy and documentation while denouncing these critiques with venomous zeal despite their nation's own proclivity for promoting and authoring revisionist "historical" documents.

As the writer Taki Theodoracopulos points out "Israel's friends and certain Jewish Americans make a terrible mistake when they interpret criticism of Israeli arrogance and treatment of the Palestinians as anti-Semitism. By attempting to silence those who criticize Israeli behavior by raising the canard of anti-Semitism -- a device that has been triumphantly successful in the United States -- they manage actually to strengthen the argument that the Israeli lobby influence prevents the Palestinian or Arab case from being properly heard. When Lord Gilmour, a respected politician with impeccable credentials for fairness, wrote a letter to The Spectator protesting Conrad Black's treatment of yours truly as a Goebbels-like figure, he was called in a return letter "a garden-variety Jew-baiter..." with a few other choice adjectives thrown in for good measure." Source: New York Press.

Some critics have leveled charges at Israel saying the Jewish state otften acts ike it has a patent on suffering the horrific atrocities they suffered in the late 1930s and 1940s. While that is a strong charge, as recently as 1996, the Israeli government banned a broadcast of an American documentary on the Armenian Holocaust in 1915 at the hands of the Turks.

What remains to play out is how forceful the Israeli moderates and liberals will become to influence their government to stop the acts of violence which have been killing thousands of people yearly.
