Koli Pokhari (Black Lake) is where we spent our second night of the trek. That evening, we learned just how chatty the Bengali/Kolkata crowd can be. An expat who has lived in the area for 4 years, our porters and the lodge hosts, also comment on Bengali babbling and partying in the hills. We learn that the crew nestled below our room is not an exception. As our trip progresses, other locals and expats also comment on the loud party demeanor of many groups from Kolkata. April 2005.
