Neighborhood
The photos with the file names of India_bang_neighXX (where XX equals the number) were taken within a 5 block radius of our apartment. The first two slides were taken from our balcony. The Hindu temple has several services a day and sometimes gets very loud. The street vendor is one of many that pass by our house daily - starting about 7am. Notice the lamb waiting to be slaughtered outside the mutton shop in slide India_bang_neigh07, while number 08 features a rare waking moment of the wild, feral, rabid digs that howl all night.
Hampi
Hampi was the site of the Vijayanagar Empire which thrived from the 1300s until the late 1500s. Located about 353 km northwest of Bangalore, Hampi is a a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with ruims situated among hills and dotted with numerous granite boulders. Spectacular. Not to be missed if you visit India.
