Coorg, also known as Kodagu, is home of the proud Kodavas, in southern Karanataka. On the eastern ridges of the Western Ghats, Coog is flanked to the west by the state of Kerala, and famous for its generals, coffee, rich, lush terrain and is also where the the Cauvery river emanates.

In Coorg, lodging is available at variety of places including guest homes on coffee plantations and excellent day tripping is available to the afore-mentioned Tibetan community, or several wildlife parks and sanctuaries featuring birds, elephants, and much more. December 2004.
